Hi, we’re Michael and Hope Stephens. We created Leanstead as our little corner of the world where simple homesteading meets real life. After years of chasing the busier path, we felt God calling us toward something quieter — a downsized life centered on faith, good food, and the joy of raising Coturnix quail right in our own backyard.
Quail quickly stole our hearts with their gentle nature, lightning-fast life cycle, and nutrient-packed eggs reminded us that abundance doesn’t require a huge farm — just intention, patience, and a little faith. Today we raise them with care, hatch, breed, and gather fresh eggs, and create honest products (from our farm to your table and from our designs to your wardrobe) that help others experience the same simple pleasures.
